Strayer Surveying and Mapping, Inc. is a full service land surveying and mapping company.  Established in 1987, the original name of the company was Leslie, Hicks, Strayer and Associates, Inc.  Robert B. Strayer, Jr., one of the original partners in 1987, had become majority shareholder & President in 1990.  He then renamed the company Strayer Surveying and Mapping, Inc. in 1995. In 2012 we celebrated our 25th year in business!

Our main office is still in Venice, Florida.  The office is located just off I-75, off exit 193, Jacaranda Boulevard, in Venice Gardens. The current address is:

Our main office in Venice was built in 2005. It is a modern 3,200 square foot office, equipped with the latest computer technology, large conference room to meet with clients, and many individual offices that has the ability to house multiple licensed surveyors.  In 2007 the office won a beatification award for the exterior design and the improved look it brought to the area.      

All of the field crews are set up and trained with the latest technology.  All of our trained and experienced personnel have the ability to handle projects of any size, quickly & accurately.  We pride ourselves on promoting a very productive and safe work environment.  Our experienced staff allows us to efficiently complete survey projects throughout the state of Florida with the quality & service our clients expect.

The process we employ is equally as important as the technology and equipment we deploy. All survey requests are assigned to a licensed surveyor and mapper, or graduate surveyor in training (L.S.I.T.) who acts as the project manager. The project team is assembled consisting of the Project Manager, Field Manager, CAD designer and QA/QC reviewer. The scope of services is further reviewed and the contract is executed. Prior to the field work being performed all the necessary plans, computer drawings, and research is obtained, field work is calculated in the office, and a project briefing meeting is held. Once the project goes to the field the required data is collected electronically using electronic robotic total stations, real-time kinematic GPS equipment, stored in windows CE based electronic data collector, and then downloaded daily into our computer system for analysis and processing. This data is then provided to our cad technicians to create the final product, all under the supervision of the project manager. The product is then delivered to the client after undergoing our quality assurance/quality control process to insure they get the product that they expect.
